“Cross-party collaboration and exchange of ideas will allow us to devise the best policies for the European citizens, both on national and European level”, stated Eva Paunova (GERB, EPP) on the occasion of the Young Parliament Members Forum, which took place from the 28th of September until the 1st of October at the European Parliament in Brussels. The conference, organised by the network of young MEPs EU40, gathered 50 Members of national Parliament, representatives of different member states and political parties.
The Forum was under the high patronage of the European Parliament and has the support of Parliament President Martin Schulz. MEP Eva Paunova moderated and participated in the panel featuring Mr. Manfred Weber, Chairman of the EPP Group.
Other topics discussed during the forum included research, innovation, digital technologies and youth employment. Nick Jennett, Director of the new products and special transactions department at the European Investment Bank, made a presentation on EFSI. He elaborated on how investment can be through into the European economy. According to Paunova, “these topics are important for Europe as a whole, but also for enabling each member state to fulfil its potential and face the challenges of our time.”
